Terms at a glance

Four things to confirm before you start

Allowed uses and closed doors

Make usage decisions direct and actionable

If an activity falls on both sides, follow the stricter rule and obtain explicit authorization from the system owner and data controller before sending.

Allowed testing activities

With lawful authorization and synthetic data, you may:

  • Test registration, login, and password-reset emails for your own applications
  • Check HTML templates, plain-text fallbacks, links, and mobile layouts
  • Verify queueing, timing, bounces, and retry logic in pre-production environments
  • Use forwarding aliases to isolate business sources that have consent to receive mail
  • Keep necessary and limited test evidence for your team’s quality processes

  • Spam, phishing, fraud, harassment, or malicious registrations

  • Unauthorized access to accounts, verification codes, reset links, or communications
